Sittin' Pretty

I am so bad at taking pictures and documenting Braelynn's life. She is surely going to hate me when she's older!

She cut her first teeth last week. It was hard to watch her suffer, and I don't know who is more relieved now that they are through. She did good though as she also had her 4 month shots and shared a cold with me all in the same week. She's a brave little girl.

She also had her 4 month check up. Everything looks good. She is about 25 inches (75th percentile) and 15.5 lbs (75th percentile again).

Now for the fun stuff! She rolls onto her back all the time, and has learned that screaming like a Taradactyl is the most efficient way to get back onto her stomach.

She has also discovered her feet and loves to pull her socks off. Most mornings I find her rolled over; out of her blankets; socks off; and ice cubes for feet; just babbling away.

She absolutely loves this toy animal-piano. She bangs on it and pulls on the bunnies and ducks all day, so that we all have "quack quack quack" to the tune of "London Bridge" in our heads.

To my mother's dismay, she is a thumb sucker. She'll usually only suck it for a few moments just to be sure that her thumb is still there and then she chills out. I think it's super cute (ask me again in 16 years when I have to pay for braces though).

Today my little baby became a little girl as she sat on her own for a few minutes. I'm loving it! I'm so proud of her (and I'm also so happy that I saw her sit before anyone else, unlike the rolling over).

I think she's pretty pleased with herself as well!

We've been so blessed with such a HAPPY baby. I always classified mellow babies as happy, but she is really happy. She loves to laugh and smile at you. She'll just sit there and stare at you, waiting for you to look at her. The second you turn to her, her whole face lights up and she lets out a coo and a giggle. She loves to play with her toys with anyone and loves to tell her stories. She babbles with such exertion and is so passionate about whatever it is that she's telling you. When you reply, she lights up again and seems to be so excited that you "understand" her.

She's going to be a great older sister and we cannot wait to have some more!...well, I think I can wait actually ;)
