Slight Change of Plans...

Well, if I could sum up the week in one sentence, it would be just that. "Slight change in plans."

Kent had been offered a position with VR Business Brokerages and was all set to move his license over this coming week. However, on Monday VR rescinded the offer.

We had also hired a new Leasing agent, who we liked at first, but became a complete flake. This week he told us that he can only do it part time. Ok...no thank you.

To top it ALL off, I'M PREGNANT!!!

We were planning to start AFTER the summer, however I am now due September 15th. I will be the MOST PREGNANT at the HOTTEST part of summer :(

Kent is very excited, and I'm still trying to soak it all in. Hopefully I'll get a little more excited and feel more "mothery" as time goes on, because right now I'm just a little bummed.

Yesterday we went to Tucson to tell my parents. We told them that we were wanting to redecorate our home, so I brought some pictures of decorating ideas. On the 2nd page I had some pictures of nurseries and told my mom that was what we were going to do with the guest room. Her eyes got real big and she turned to me and said, "YOU'RE PREGNANT?!?!" Then Ken turned to us with big eyes and was like, "WHOA!!" So, they were very surprised!

And that was our week. Phew!

Round 2 with the Round Up

Well so far this year we are 2 for 2. Our "Saturday Outside" plan has proven to be a success.

In the morning we went to an Emergency Preparedness fair. It was quite interesting, and the best part was ALL of the food...I was definitely motivated to find some more options with our powdered milk!

After that we drove over to Queen Creek for a rodeo. A brand new Equestrian Center had their grand opening. It was a lot of fun being out there with the horses and all the livestock. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun!

With all this warm weather we're having, the weeds are already starting to pop up everywhere. Last year was an absolute nightmare. The people we bought the house from had obviously NOT sprayed any kind of pre-emergent over the previous summer. The weeds were sprouting up faster than we could pull, spray, and pay landscapers to get rid of!

This year I've already started pulling weeds everyday and this week I'm spraying the pre-emergent as it definitely helped after the summer monsoons.

I just hope that it's not like last year...

Around the Valley in a Day!

First things first...I passed my Real Estate test on Thursday- Woo Hoo! I was a tad bit nervous about it, but passed and that is all that matters I guess :)

Kent has also officially decided to move over to Aperion Business Brokerage, under VR. He's pretty excited about it, and now is the perfect time for him to jump into this. He'll officially be starting in 2 weeks.

BAPECLOTHING.NET was also semi-down for the past 2 1/2 weeks. Anyone could access the site, but anyone doing anything "admin" couldn't sign in. FINALLY one of our guys was able to work it all out. I guess some "pirates hacked" or some "hackers pirated" it. Needless to say, we are back up and running :)

Saturday morning was just beautiful and we wanted to get out of the house. What a day we had! First we went to Old Town Scottsdale for their Farmer's Market. It was quite nice and we tried a few delicious treats and lotions. Then we walked around the downtown area and went through quite a few art galleries.

By this time, we were ready for lunch and a nap. So, we drove up to Fountain Hills and did just that. It was probably the most relaxing nap we've ever had, as we were by the water with a cool breeze and the sound of the fountain was so soothing. I wanted to nap a little longer, so Kent started a game of Disc Golf. I then met him on the back 9, where there was a concert! SO, we watched the concert for about 30 minutes and then finished up the game.

We weren't quite ready to head home yet, so we stopped off at Tempe Marketplace and spent an hour or so at Barnes and Noble. Boy were we hungary though. So we grabbed some pizza and Dr. Pepper and went home and watched "A River Runs through it."

Phew! What a day!

One of our New Year's resolutions is that we will do something OUTSIDE every Saturday. I did this for a little while in college and it was just so refreshing to be outdoors. Yesterday was our 1st go at it, and I think we'll definitely stick with it.

While we were at the park, we also decided that we need to be more interesting. We really can be boring :) We work so much...it starts off as, "I'm just gonna check my work email..." Next thing you know, the entire Saturday is GONE and we haven't done a single fun thing!

So, 3 out of the 4 weekends each month, we are going to go to some kind of event/festival or have weekend getaways around the the state. We love camping and I hope to spend a good portion of the 120 degree summer somewhere north! Haha!

It's now or never :)

OH! Big news!!

I almost forgot-

One of my bestest friends, Jeanette, got engaged over the weekend!!!!

For the record, I think Bryan is the absolute coolest and she is so lucky to have found someone like him.

I'm only a little upset that he's moving her to California, but hey if you have to have a friend live somewhere else, it might as well be California :)

They are getting married in March...the same day as another dear friend....decisions, decisions, decisions. 'Tis the season!

This and that

I just realized that I didn't update anything over the weekend! Oops :)

I've been SO busy the past 2 weeks, that I honestly cannot remember anything from last week...

Oh! Kent turned 32 on New Year's Eve. Happy Birthday Honey. The weather was just beautiful outside, so we went up to Scottsdale to play Disc Golf. Kent got 2 new discs for Christmas from his brother Chad, and played the best game of his life.

Afterward, I took him to dinner at this place called Uncle Bear's. We were a little skeptical at first, but it was quite delicious. It was a cute little place too.

This was the 3rd New Year's holiday that I have spent with Kent, and I have YET to get a New Year's kiss! The first year I wanted to punch him the face, the 2nd year we were both sick, and this year we only made it to 11. Maybe next year...

Saturday I went to Tucson for my bethel's semi-annual installation of officers. I enjoyed going and getting together with some of my friends, and I also got to get together with a good friend, Ashlee, from High School. Her dad had done my dad's funeral and I hadn't seen her since. We went to dinner at a place called North and walked around La Encantada mall. We are funny, as we'll go months without talking and then talk for a few weeks and then nothing...she is such a sweetheart though and I'm glad that we keep in touch.

I also got to see my mom and Ken. I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving AND I had to share them. My mom made me lunch and we just visited for a couple of hours. It's nice to go home and just be a daughter every once in a while.

This week I've been really busy trying to fill some vacancies and have met quite a few characters along the way. Kent has been gearing up to get started with a Business Brokerage. He's pretty excited about it.

Well, I think that's been about it. We'll touch base later :)
