Tag! You're it!

Tag! You're it!

Here are the rules: You answer the questions below and at the end of the post you tag 4 people. Then go to their blog and comment to them that they have been tagged.

What is your husband's name? Kent Attaya Burton

How long have you been married? 50 weeks and 1 day (I think)

How long did you date? 1 year on and then off and then on...you get the idea ;)

How old is he? 31

Who eats sweets? We're both more "savory" than sweet. However, I have seen him pack away 3 pieces of wedding cake. He can also polish off a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper in less than 1 day.

Who said "I Love You" first? Mmm...I remember something about using the word "trouble" in place of "love" and I think I told him, "I think I'm in trouble." BUT I never said "I love you" without him saying it 1st, while we were dating.

Who is taller? Kent

Who can sing best? Definitely Kent- that's how he proposed.

Who is smarter? Kent's more book smart and I'm more street smart.

Who does the laundry? Kent tried to do it for about 9 months, but he didn't do it right. To quote Cassie, "You don't have any 'lay flat to dry' clothes to you Kent?"

Who pays the bills? Kent. We have a gazillion of them and I'd rather not touch any of 'em!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Kent is on the right side on everything...bed, closet, sink, etc.

Who mows the lawn? Kent

Who cooks dinner? Me. If I didn't, we would have chicken fajitas, frozen pizza, repeat.

Who drives? Kent. He terrifies me, but I'm too traditional to drive.

Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Kent. I've never been wrong ;)

Who kissed who first? He kissed me. He held me down on the ground accused me of being shy (yeah right!).

Who asked who out first? I invited him over to watch a movie, but he couldn't come, so he invited me to lunch for later in the week.

Who wears the pants? He wears them...I pick them out.

Who's funnier? We both crack each other up.

What was your first big fight? Not that I'm keeping tabs, but I'll gladly remind him about my grandmother's lamp and the dumpster ;)

What makes your hubby cranky? Noise, other people, heat...basically everything that does not fit with his plan at that moment.

How did you meet? I learned about Kent when my old roommate came home from, "the most awful date ever" and she said we would be perfect together. We met a few months later at a girls' "super bowl" potluck. He was the only guy and we all talked about Polygamy.

Busted up

I cannot believe we are already at the end of October! We certainly had our fun yesterday and are paying for it today.

Kent got back in the ring for the 1st time in 8 years yesterday morning. I wasn't planning on going until Kent mentioned that he may get creamed...I couldn't resist watching that! However, he actually did a really good job. I'm still impressed :) Things have been moving a little slower since then as just about every bone in his body hurts today. He plans on going back next week for some more.

We also got to see a lot of old friends last night. Our Bishopric from the last single's ward we were in had a reunion. It was good catching up with everyone. Kent had a nice ego-boost as a lovely young lady tried to snatch him up...but he is all mine!

I'm just about all set for our ward's chili cook off on Tuesday. I was trash talking all the ladies this morning, but soon found that I should actually be more concerned about their husbands. Today for dinner we are trying out a Black Bean and Pumpkin chili, but I think I'm going to stick with my last winner. More details to come on that...AFTER the competition :)

This week will also be our photo shoot to get all geared up for our PR launch. Kent and I had so much fun getting our engagement photos taken, so I think we'll really enjoy this just the same.

Well, I think that covers it. We'll keep you all posted!

Here we go!

This weekend was a time of celebration for us. Kent took AND PASSED the State and National Broker exam :) We celebrated over some dinner at our favorite restaraunt, Texas Roadhouse, and bummed around Barnes & Noble for a few hours. It feels so good to have that test out of the way. Now, he just needs to get cleared and we will be good to go.

That was pretty much the sum of the week. I have no clue what this week holds in store for us, but hopefully it will be a great one!

Life is good!

Kent and I have truly enjoyed just about every moment of this past week. We met with a PR goddess, Christina Jordan, twice this week. She has some amazing ideas and is really putting Eleava on steroids. Kent and I have talked it over and decided that we will let her do the PR, but since I thoroughly enjoy creating company images, I will get to handle that part. I'm really excited to get back into Publisher as it has been a while!

Kent also took his school's broker exam and passed with a 93%. This coming Friday is the big state and national exam. Many people find the school test to be harder than the actual exam, so I am sure he will do great!

We've been talking so much over the past year about what we would like to do with our landscaping, or lack there of...This past week we looked at some Citrus trees and once again, planned to "talk it over" Well, my Honeymuffin tried to pull a fast one on me, and bought the trees! I was so surprised when I found the receipt. We now have a lemon, grapefruit, and tangelo tree in our backyard. We also "invested" in 6 rose bushes. On Friday we sat outside for a good hour wondering why we haven't done any of this sooner!

I also got to hang out with one of my most favorite little kids on Tuesday, "Sauce the Boss" (Sauce is his family nick-name, and he LOVES Bruce Springsteen- the Boss) as I affectionately like to call him. I nannied Scotty for about 2 years and while we only live about a mile away from each other, I don't see him very often. We had red beans and rice, he showed me some of his Karate forms, and we watched "Elf." It was also nice to have a little visit with Joan, a little too brief, but it was nice.

On Saturday we went to Tucson to celebrate my step-dad's birthday. We trekked over to El Mariachi, which ended up being a complete bust. Ken had called in the morning to make a reservation and upon our arrival we learned that the restaurant was closed for remodeling. However, the cook offered to come in and open up for the 6 of us...no thank you. We ended up eating at a little place close to their home, called Mosaic. It was absolutely delicious and we had so much fun visiting with everyone and playing with Chloe.

I hope this week is just as pleasant as the last. We hope everyone is doing well!

Baby, it's cool outside!

What a sigh of relief! We finally feel "fall" in the air. The weatherman had been toying with us all week, promising cooler weather by the weekend...today it was only in the 80s!

We celebrated the cooler weather by staying indoors all weekend. It was our church's semi-annual conference, so we have been parked on the couch for the last 2 days. We had a variety of good friends over and plenty of snacks to sustain us. We enjoyed the wonderful messages shared and are looking forward to making the changes we would like to make in our lives.

Kent will be taking an exam this week to continue forth with getting his Broker's License. I am sure he will do just great as he has flown through the practice exams with flying colors! Kent will also be giving his 7th Toastmaster's speech this week...maybe it's about time I do my Icebreaker! We will also be meeting with a Marketing/PR/Even Planner this week, to start gearing up for the official launch of Eleava...I know what you are thinking..."But Carly, isn't that what you have a degree in?" Yes, but I HATE Property Management, so I'll stick with the "supportive wife" role on this one. :)

In coordination with this crisp fall weather I've prepared a stew for dinner, which is needing my attention. We hope everyone has a wonderful week and we will catch up with you soon!
